We thought exploring the caves is an adventure only for the mature and the brave, but the Carreys Caves warmly welcomes every individual, young or old, who’s up for the magical adventure inside its walls.

The cave is a devoted recreational center to kids and even adults. Unlike other caves, the structure of the Carreys Caves isn’t based to a bottleneck feature. The interior is big and majestic enough to hold musical concerts and familial celebrations. Every part of it can be recognized as an excellent masterpiece of nature that when light is shed on, it illuminates like diamonds.

The walls are beautifully carved by time and by natural phenomena to reverb the voice and the music naturally. Heaps of musicians and bands find the caves truly magical even after one round of playing and singing only.

Furthermore, it’s one popular stop of educational trips. Learning programs and exhibits of precious rocks, crystals, and fossils are regularly scheduled. And from being a fun learning center, it shifts to a place of solemnity and sanctity when life milestones like weddings are celebrated on its impeccable beauty.

Not all caves are dedicated to extreme adventures only. Carreys Caves is a one-of-a-kind venue for celebrating meaningful moments of life in the good soil of the earth.

Australia is far-famed for its biodiversity. Its capital city Canberra made it possible that the integration of modernity to the rich flora and fauna won’t bring nature devastation. Even after the significant development of the city, huge reserves are maintained and nurtured by the people and the government of Canberra.

This is simply the reason natives and tourists can enjoy the wildlife even without traveling to remote places. Horseback riding is just one of the many ways to explore the flora and fauna. Rather riding a 4×4 or hiking a steep mountain, a more countryside way of meeting the planet’s other breathing creatures is through the help of one of them.

The rich reserves are home to the various Eucalypt species, reptile species, bird species, and other wildlife. When you spotted a kangaroo and its joeys playing on the bushes, take the horse for a gallop towards the young family and discover what’s cuddling and tickling for them. Tend the sheep cattle in a canter until they reach home or be a real adventurer and follow the trail of the wildlife.

Every Canberra national pays high regard for nature. But you’ll only get to discover why they do upon your close-up encounter with the wildlife through a horseback riding.

We all have been to high places especially that the buildings we go home to and work at are skyscrapers themselves stretching out to the majestic sky. But Canberra has another avenue to get us in that exalted spot of which not everyone has the opportunity to. That is, through the Balloon Aloft.

Canberra’s sky may not always have a rainbow, but it’s ever colorful with hot air balloons wandering blissfully during the day. How will you feel if you just caught the sunset in the best angle? What can you say about clouds touching and kissing softly your skin? Perhaps, you’ll be speechless.

It’s not only about the sky and the sun, it’s also about getting a glimpse of the lovely Canberra city in a bird’s eye view. You can only expect the best from the 1912 global competition of Canberra architectural design. When you’ve touch the clouds and you’ve seen the entire Canberra up from the sky, it may take a while to sink in. You’ll definitely be speechless in awe of the perfection of both. And this is just the best time to toast such fascination with the finest champagne.

When you thought you’ve seen the world and discovered all its beauty but you haven’t gone to Canberra, then better aim for the cloud nine only found in the city’s airspace.

A farm amidst the capital city Canberra is just brilliant don’t you think? It is, and what’s more is the Gold Creek Station was able to preserve the practices of a simplistic, rural life in the urban world. The home to the most beautiful Gardens named as “Cockington Green Gardens”, this place is just amazing.

The hosts Craig Starr together with his missus Sandra Starr are experts in the field of farming. Upon taking the responsibility on this 2000 acre farm sheltering and nurturing merino sheep and beef cattle, they also grabbed the opportunity of educating people on the bush life.

As you step your first into the immense venue, you’ll be swallowed by the music of the herds, the fresh, healing air, and the stillness of the neighboring sceneries. Starrs’ main advocacy is to educate their guests on the processes shearing and fostering of herds. While Craig takes in charge of this, Sandra prepares an outback meal of fresh meat and greens for a more feel-good aura.

During the cold season, plainly drinking a hot coffee or tea and watching the rising and setting of the sun in front of an open fire is already a magical moment. It’s even more fascinating when kangaroos and other wildlife drop by to say hello.

Upon experiencing the tranquility and simplicity of the rural life, you’ll be surprised how attached you are to nature then. No words can define how marvelous such an experience is and no number of days can suffice your craving for a Gold Creek Station experience.

Corin Forest is a place for the young but it shows no bias towards the age. Even the oldies find themselves young at heart in the adventures of the forest. A bushwalk from the Corin Dam Road to the Square Rock presents lovely views of the mountain and its surroundings. The mountains’ lush green and bright flower colors are uplifting in the summer. But the innocence in every child or adult’s heart is ever evident when these sceneries are covered in white snow.

Fun suddenly snatches the limelight from the melodramatic atmosphere when families and couples go through the forest the Aussie way. Exploring the immense reserve only takes an 800 meter bobsled ride in full speed adventure or in slow motion indulging trip. If you’re a true bold spirit then it has to be through the Flying Fox that you’ll finally encounter the greens. But blimey, you got to hang in there as the 36 vertical meters are travelled only in 18 seconds.

Kids on the other hand can splurge in a 110 meter waterslide with three big dippers and water troff at the end for a countryside feel. When the high spirits subside, the Woods Reserve will take you to another setting where picnic tables, camping tents, and a café overlooking a serene pond await for fulfilled hearts yet grumbling stomachs.

Truly, Corin Forest welcomes anyone who seeks the beauty of life, whether young or old, an adventurer or a soul searcher.

While there is a meticulous kind of discipline in growing a tree and creating an art piece, an array of disciplines is harnessed when growing and designing a bonsai and penjing.

Not all people can create and nurture a bonsai, just like how impossible it is that every single person is gifted in art. Comparing it to various art forms, this is perhaps one of the most intricate kinds of art ever produced. This is why Canberra is devoted to showcasing selected Australian bonsais for the entire world to see.

Bonsai and penjing display in NBPCA range from the blushing Japanese Maples and the dramatically barren Ulmus Procera to the ideal Melaleuca and the shy old Acacia Hawittii. The Seiju Elm manifests the tree of life while the bubbly Allocasuarina Torulasa welcomes any guest with a warm embrace. Each miniature tree shouts its distinctive characteristic perhaps uprooted from a nice story of their growth.

For the artists, although creating an art out of a miniature tree can be tough, the overwhelming bliss stirred by every bonsai and penjing pays off.

When you’re choked with city life and you’re craving for some fresh air, the National Botanic Gardens is definitely what you’re looking for.The Botanic Gardens emanates a sweet scent on its refreshing and healing gusts of wind. The sound, the smell, and the sight all complement a picture of priceless serenity. The long-standing, too old eucalyptus trees still strike a manly pose amidst the Eucalypt Lawn while shrubs and flowers in the Mallee Shrublands sway on the soft blows of the wind.

National Botanic Gardens is ideal for a quick family getaway. While for parents it serves as an escape from the city life, it makes an excellent educational trip for the children. Kids can discover every shrub and tree growing on the fertile land of Canberra through either a guided walk where volunteers introduce the kingdom plantae or through the art and science programs prepared by the ANBG staff.

The trees, shrubs, and the flowers aren’t only a pleasing sight, but the best remedy as well to stress and anxiety caused by the city life.

Soar in your imaginations with the exquisite birds of the Canberra Walk in Aviary. Such rich reserve is the habitat of roughly 600 polychromatic birds of 57 diverse species. Meet 200 Australian parrots and 350 finches all playful and freely flying in the enormous aviary. Watch them as they fly and spread their colors to the monotonous green-toned habitat and take some pictures on how they brighten up the colossal venue. Feed them with your own hands and they’ll rest on your shoulder like a lover or roost on your arm like a toddler. - Things to do in Canberra

The founders themselves have a penchant for birds and what they know as a hobby of collecting birds before is now a far-famed aviary in Canberra. As they open the bird sanctuary to the public, they leave us with a compelling message:

“Birds share our world, they are not just part of God’s aviary.”

And so we must leap at the opportunity, succumb to the serene, undisturbed world of birds, and soar high up in the heavens with these 57 species.- Things to do in Canberra

Canberra is known for being a colossal sanctuary of reptiles, birds, and eucalyptus trees. But it doesn’t mean its flora and fauna’s wealth is limited to these.

Lake Burley Griffin warms us up with an action-packed adventure for a break in our toxic city life. You can engage in diverse water activities like canoeing, kayaking, and watercraft paddling. See who’s stronger and quicker between you and your sports mate or your spouse or your teenager kids in water sports such as sailboarding, rowing, and sailing.

The first to get to the National Carillon Bell Tower or the challenger who’s able to make it to the sheltered waters of the Molonglo Reach gets the free dinner at the Boathouse by the Lake where Australian cuisine is complemented with the serene view of the waters.

At dinner, experience a champagne toast while watching the sun gradually fall asleep. And if you’re still in high spirits then a stride on the shoreline, where the dedicated jogging and biking path distinguish the ground and the lake, is quite romantic. Make the most of the trip and include a lovely Lake Burley Griffin cruise on your agenda for an experience of the serene waters during the night.

The Canberra City prepared heaps of nature bonding activities that you can indulge on, but it can never be a worthwhile Canberra trip without Lake Burley Griffin on the itinerary.

Even the unfathomable and the most puzzling nature of matter can be explained by science, but Questacon has its own way of enlightening us through exhilarating exhibitions and indulging science programs.

Questacon’s mission is to reinvent the learning into fun, dynamic, and interactive programs where kids get a hands-on experience in varying kinds of matter and the natural processes they go through. Kids can explore science just exactly how they are in a school laboratory, they engage in the experiments so as to fully grasp the answers they are looking for. May it be the basic solid, liquid, and gas or the natural phenomena tsunami and hurricane, Questacon reveals the stories of each in fun presentations that kids will love.

You can spot its exhibitions either at the Questacon Centre or on its Science Tours. Theatre shows though are viewed solely on the centre.
